About the festival

The Waterloo Wellington Children’s Groundwater Festival is an annual week-long event that brings government, industry and educators together to teach children the importance of groundwater and their role in protecting and conserving our most important natural resources.

The festival offers hands-on activities, discussions, demonstrations, displays and exhibits for children in grades two to five that will challenge them to consider the importance of groundwater to them as individuals and to our communities.

A message from our Executive Director

For over 25 years, WWCGF has inspired students and educators to gain a new perspective on our drinking water supply by offering thought-provoking, fun and challenging activities that aim to educate future generations to not only know more about the water we use, but to take steps toward a greener future.

The festival wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of our volunteers, donors, partners and teachers. Each year our dedicated organizing committee works to ensure that the festival provides students, teachers and parents with the best experience in learning by bringing together government, industry professionals and educators from Guelph, Wellington County and the Region of Waterloo.

Whether you’re passionate about water, education, or both, we’d like to hear from you.
